Vitronics Soltec has announced that it will align its global engineering and product management responsibilities under its European Business Unit. The move is a continuation of the company’s strategy to leverage their soldering knowledge and better provide comprehensive products and support on a global scale. Shifting to Europe will allow the company to take full advantage of nearly a century of soldering expertise and better utilize it for their customers’ benefit. While the focus will be realigned to Europe, the engineering teams in the US and China will be maintained and will retain their importance in the development of global comprehensive products.
Vitronics Soltec also recently released two new and innovative products, the ZEVAv selective soldering machine and the high-throughput Delta N wave soldering platform. “This is only a start,” said Frank van Erp, Director – European Sales and Service. “We will continue our investment in engineering resources with the expectation of releasing two additional products in 2015, that will specifically address our customers’ complex problems.”
The Advanced Technology team of the company, guided by Gerjan Diepstraten, is closely aligned with the Engineering team, ensuring market trends and customer requirements get translated into product development and process improvements. The global Engineering and Product Management team will be headed by Ton Colijn, a 25 year Vitronics Soltec veteran who has been responsible for many successful product introductions, including the recently introduced selective soldering machine ZEVAv.
