Germany’s two biggest printed circuit board producers are canceling their intended collaboration to a large extent. The co-operation was just announced in Q3 of 2004 (see EPP Europe 11/12–04). The partnership of both companies under a corporate holding is also to be cancelled in this context. To what degree both companies will continue to co-operate in the future in sales, purchasing, production and technology will be resolved in detail from the management teams. As one of the reasons, the companies indicate that they have differences in perception on strategic orientation. Together, under a common holding, these two PCB suppliers would have been Europe’s leading organization in this business, combining a staff of about 2,200 and a turnover of circa euro 270m, even playing an important role globally. But this vision has now apparently become a thing of the past.
