Alec J. Babiarz, senior VP of Asymtek, is one of four new committee members of the IPC SMEMA (Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association) Council Steering Committee. These individuals are elected for three-year terms, and are responsible for setting the agenda for the council to improve efficiency in the electronics manufacturing industry. One of its main priorities is the organization of the APEX show. Alec Babiarz is a founder of Asymtek and a co-developer in 31 patents for fluid dispensing equipment. He currently manages international sales and marketing, and serves as president of Nordson-Asymtek K.K., a division of the corporation in Japan. The other new members are: Robert Muller, Teradyne Assembly Test; Marc Peo, Heller Industries; and Jay Stepleton of Agilent.
