Mfg. software links for European users

Aegis has formed a European subsidiary headquartered in the UK. Barrie Murray-Upton and Peter Clegg head the team. The directors have proven track records of bringing CAD/CAM companies to Europe. Responsible for customer support is Christian Teasdel, who has worked across Europe within the electronic manufacturing industry. Now, Aegis has joined the Universal Corp. third-party software program. The company has developed interfaces to UIC software to integrate support into its iMonitor system. Aegis will utilize standard interfaces in UIC manufacturing automation software suite to allow data retrieval by its software. Already developed is an interpreter for the UIC database providing translation into IPC-standard CAMX data. This solution, which comprises of line communication software with the CAMX transmitter, has been tested and verified for all UIC surface mounters including GSM UPS+ (Windows-based system), GSM UPS (OS/2-based system), and HSP (4796 and 4797). This package offers users a single solution to monitor real-time data from surface-mount lines, and leverage this information with web-based product tracking, component traceability, quality and SPC solutions. In the future, integration with UIC’s programming tools will simplify the access to machines from Aegis programming tools, its NPI tools will interface seamlessly with GSM platform products and the HSP chipshooter range.
