Asys enjoys long-standing partnerships with a number of leading solar cell and module manufacturers. LG Electronics Inc. has incorporated Asys solar printing technology in their world-class manufacturing lines since 2009. To date, dual lane metalization lines have been installed at all LG n-type manufacturing sites in Korea. However, the initial Asys metalization lines at LG were deployed for the production of p-type cells. The most recently delivered lines are used for double print n-type cells mounted in the LG world record setting modules. One key to LG’s solar cell success is the efficiency rate of up to 22 % provided through infrared print alignment on buried structures enabled by Asys double print technology. These state-of-the-art systems have decreased alignment defects to the ppm (one part per million) range increasing yield and at the same time reducing costs.

Werner Kreibl, president of the Asys Group, is proud to have a long-standing partnership with LG Solar, an important and valued customer. “The Asys dual lane concept has been operating in mass production environments for over 10 years. Together with an outstanding maintenance and a highly skilled staff LG achieves striking results in cycle times and breakage rates. The extraordinary know-how and technology leadership of LG demonstrates what can be achieved with Asys metalization lines”, he says. The Asys Solar production equipment for the back-end of solar cell manufacturing provides scalable manufacturing solutions and record-breaking throughput rates. These metallization lines have become the leading technology in the global market for PV equipment.
LG Electronics Inc. is a leading electronics company employing 82,000 people working in more than 100 locations around the world. The company operates in the three main sectors consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances. One business unit of LG is energy solutions.
