Through its subsidiary Sincotron Holding AB, Swedish KAMIC Group has acquired all the shares in the German company SmartRep GmbH, a leading supplier of electronic production equipment in the DACH region.
SmartRep was founded in 2004 by Rudolf Niebling and is one of the leading distributors in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) of machines and consumables for electronics manufacturers. SmartRep represents a number of leading innovative machine suppliers such as MODI, Koh Young, Europlacer, YJ LINK, Techvalley, LPKF and PVA, and can therefore offer its customers complete solutions at the leading edge of technology development. Its head office is in Hanau, just east of Frankfurt, and there is also a sales office and demonstration centre in Günzburg in southern Germany. The company has some 35 employees and annual sales of approximately EUR 15 million (about SEK 175 million). As a result of the acquisition, SmartRep becomes part of KAMIC Group’s Production Technology business area led by Björn Johnsson.
“SmartRep has a strong position as a supplier in the DACH countries with in-depth knowledge of how to best satisfy customers’ needs,” Johnsson said. “In Production Technology we have the same strong position in the Nordic and Baltic countries as well as in Poland. We therefore complement each other particularly well and it is a real pleasure to welcome SmartRep into the KAMIC family.”
The entire management of SmartRep will continue in their current roles following the change of ownership. Rudolf Niebling and Andreas Keller, sellers and Chief Executive Officers, comment jointly: “We are very pleased to be able to align our company with KAMIC Group. By sharing experiences, skills and contacts both parties will be even stronger and more attractive to electronics manufacturers in our different geographical markets.”
