The German EMS company Limtronik decided for Goepel electronic’s Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) system OptiCon AdvancedLine for quality assurance of its products. After successfully utilising the AOI systems OptiCon TurboLine and OptiCon BasicLine, Limtronik’s management agreed to purchase another AOI system from the test and measurement vendor for its new SMD production line. The OptiCon AdvancedLine will be applied to component and solder joint inspection in a high-speed SMD manufacturing line after the reflow process. Additionally, there is an inline OptiCon station for repair and verification. On the basis of the AOI test results, pass-fail sorting is executed after the turnaround station. The offline programming allows for program generation without test throughput interference.
“As users of Goepel electronic’s Boundary Scan systems as well as 3D x-ray inspection system we have been appreciating the long-term professional cooperation with the company”, says Gerd Ohl, CEO of the EMS company. “The cooperation is moreover to accelerate our requirements on modern electronics manufacturing: quickly providing reliable and high-quality PCBs. Due to its innovative systems Goepel electronic sets the standards on the market. The company’s presence as OEM on the German market has been playing a critical role in regard to further innovations and future services.“
Markus Mink, Limtronik’s Technology Manager adds: “Purchasing the next Goepel electronic AOI system is another step towards continuously extending and improving our service portfolio”.
