DEK has signed an OEM-partner agreement with Stork Veco, Europe’s leading manufacturer of electroformed stencils. These stencils are particularly effective in applications with high numbers of apertures, and demand better printing characteristics that can be achieved using laser-cut or chemically etched stencils. The companies have joined forces to develop those stencils for the SMT and the semiconductor industries. Customers will benefit from combined manufacturing and engineering expertise and the high level of customer service. “Electroformed stencils are a niche product, and there are only a small number of manufacturers of them in Europe. Still, customers do expect fast lead times and a high level of support”, said Michael Brianda of DEK. “We’re able to give the customer service they want. This agreement also means that DEK customers can now buy every type of stencil they need from one place”. Under the terms of the OEM agreement, DEK will take full ownership for frontend orders, enquiries and on-site reports. Stork will manufacture the stencils and will no longer sell directly to end customers.
