Craig Hunter has joined Intermolecular as vice president and general manager, solar and energy technologies. Hunter previously founded and then served as general manager of the Thin Film Solar business at Applied Materials, Inc.
“Craig Hunter brings unique expertise and hands-on business experience in solar PV to Intermolecular at the moment when this industry can most effectively capitalize on the R&D efficiencies enabled by our High-Productivity Combinatorial (HPC) technology products and services,” said David Lazovsky, Intermolecular’s chief executive officer. “Hiring Craig for this new position underscores our commitment to redefine R&D for the solar industry, as we are doing in the semiconductor industry for electronic materials companies, equipment manufacturers and IC makers.”
Hunter presented Intermoleculars approach to de-bottleneck the R&D process in the solar industry at the PVSEC conference and show in Hamburg, Germany: „The HPC technology accelerates R&D by 100 to 200 times compared to approaches currently used in the PV industry“, he said.
