The Viscom QuickScan AOI system family for paste and pre-reflow inspection got another layout of the illumination with LEDs, allowing reduction of the scanning time by 25 %. Also, the board transport can now handle 16 x 18-in assemblies. A compact footprint, high speed and simple, rapid programming are other features of these AOI machines. With automated teach-in procedures, test programs can quickly be generated. Missing or smeared paste or paste bridges are recognized as well as component errors.
