The all-in-one professional soldering and energy-saving solution: with the new WX 2 dual-channel soldering station complete with WXP 65 intelligent soldering iron, the WFE 2S solder fume extractor and the preheating plates of the WHP series, you can save approximately 1800 kWh per year compared to a conventional repair workstation, based on customer experience which indicates that a Weller soldering system is in use on average for one hour per day.
The WX 2 acts as a central control unit (benchtop controller) for the new, intelligent soldering irons, solder fume extractors and preheating plates. When your soldering iron is not in use, the WX 2 switches all connected devices to stand-by or auto-off mode and thus reduces your energy costs significantly. The new WXP 65 (65 w) and WXP 120 (120 w) soldering irons are ideal for precision soldering work on LED backplanes, solar applications and micro soldering joints. Thanks to an optimally placed sensor (fast response technology) and the use of a low-weight soldering tip, the new WXP 65 is for example as efficient as a conventional 80 watt soldering iron even with less power. The control parameters are storedin the soldering iron to maximise productivity and energy efficiency. A usage sensor integrated in the handle switches the soldering iron to stand-by or auto-off mode when it is not in use. This saves around 32 kWh of energy per year, which is roughly equivalent to the energy consumption of a flat screen television in use for 1.5 hours every day.
The WFE 2S is a solder fume extractor for surface extraction applications. Thanks to the flow controller, the turbine always runs at the optimal operating point. The result is a significant reduction in noise, longer filter and turbine life, as well as substantial energy savings. The intelligent power-off mode of the soldering system saves you around 435 kWh per year, which is roughly equivalent to the annual energy consumption of a large freezer. The preheating plates of the WHP series are used for preheating electronic modules and ensure a faster and safer soldering process. The soldering iron cuts out automatically when it is not in use, saving you as much as 1200 kWh per year. This is roughly equivalent to the power used by a refrigerator over a period of almost five years.
