Göpel electronic introduces a new graphical user interface (GUI) for the JTAG/Boundary Scan software platform System Cascon. Cascon Mission Assist enables graphical project development based on predefined mission targets, while automating the context sensitive adaptation of all system tools and process controls. Intuitive system controls guide first-time users safely through the project development flow and improve their productivity. The open and flexible design provides support for various access technologies, such as boundary scan, processor emulation test, chip-embedded instruments, in-system programming, and core-assisted programming. This multidimensional instrumentation offers an optimized test coverage and throughput provided by a definition of mixed test and programming strategies. “It was our goal to further improve the technological performance of our JTAG/Boundary Scan development environment System Cascon with a completely new operator interface. We are introducing Mission Assist as an innovative solution to meet this goal”, says Heiko Ehrenberg, Director of the company’s North American Operations. “Today, the quality of software is often judged by its ease of use. In this regard, Mission Assist is a very important strategic milestone in our product development roadmap.“ Mission Assist visualises the entire project development workflow based on a selected mission target. This includes automated process scripting and complete management of centralised project data. The library of missions integrated in System Cascon is subject to continuous extension with the introduction of new features and technologies. The new development is available with System Cascon version 4.6 by end of November 2011 and will be available as a free update for users with a valid software maintenance agreement.
