Exchange feeders for software reducing assets and setup costs
The Siplace SiCluster Professional software enables electronics producers to signficantly reduce their setup costs
As part of Siplace’s “Optimize Your Assets” campaign, electronics manufacturers will receive a 50-percent discount on the company’s SiCluster Professional over the coming weeks along with the certainty that they can sell back to ASM Assembly Systems the Siplace feeders they save as a result of the efficiencies gained with the new software. “Results from test customers show that employing SiCluster Pro and new setup concepts can save up to 33 percent of current feeder assets and many feeder tables. At the same time, setup changeovers can be executed faster and with fewer people. In medium-sized, high- mix environments, these savings quickly accumulate to tens of thousands of euros per year,” says Hubert Egger, Product Marketing Manager Software at Siplace, about the benefits. Particularly for electronics manufacturers with medium to small lot sizes and plenty of product diversity, SiCluster Professional delivers huge efficiency improvement opportunities. The software combines products into product families (clusters), which can be set up and produced as a single group with no setup changeovers. The new version also detects any overlaps of standard components between the individual clusters and groups these shared components on “Constant Feeder Tables”. When a new setup needs to be run, these tables can remain on the line, which reduces the setup effort significantly for the operations staff.
