Compact printer to produce high quality with less possible costs

PBT Rožnov p.R.,s.r.o (Czech republic), manufacturer of off-line prototyping and small series printing systems, has introduced an new compact and flexible printer GoLED. The printer follows a group of new semi-automatic printers Go23 and Go29 which perfectly fulfil requirements of compact off-line printers with high precision, rigidity and full control of print parameters. Thought-out design with distinctive features of PBT printers proved by thousands of customers offer outstanding solution not only for LED application but for other large-format printing tasks. On the very small footprint, we offer the equipment, which is very comparable in print result with big inline systems and which brings many helpful features for fast changeover and very easy operation w/o excessive strain for the operator. Due to durability of design the printer performs very well also in harsh condition of more shift production. It can hold frame with size up to 1500x600x40mm and PCB with size 1400x420x4mm. The print table is fixed in horizontal direction by three axis X, Y1, Y2 on the machine frame. Vertical movement system (driven by newest type of brushless Maxon motor with speed and position control) is fixed to the machine frame. Thus, the print table represents a four- axis defined positional platform, without additional linear bearings. All contact points are pre- stressed, so, even after long operation w/o any maintenance the system remains stable and without play. The upper camera visual alignment system is often underestimated, because, in the majority of in-line machines a split- image camera, travelling between PCB and stencil from its lower side is common. Although travelling camera makes an universal and precise instrument, it requires, that print table travel vertically on longer distance. This needs additional bearing system and in practical use, it can be a source of uncontrolled precision decrease due to wearing and misadjusting of the mechanical parts. After introduction of lead-free technology, stencil apertures are cut without any dimensional correction against the soldering pads. This means, in majority of cases, there is no problem to align the aperture over the soldering pad with required precision, without risk of shift deposit against the pad. Major advantage of upper camera system for small, compact printers comes from the fact that after PCB and stencil has been aligned, no other movement like squeegee run can has influence on the alignment. The whole design of the printer comes from the concept of upper camera alignment. Therefore all other subassemblies were designed with respect to this. Squeegees are positioned straight under the head. This needs a new system of clamping squeegees. This clamping does not use screws or other tooling. Clamping system is patent-pended. The printer uses an enhanced balancing system from preceding solution Uniprint Go3. Opening and closing is operated by handle and can stop in any angle position. This allows to open machine to extreme 60° for adjusting table and maintenance, but also only to 15–20° for PCB re-loading. This feature speeds- up the practical operation dramatically. Balancing servo-system is so precise, that opening/ closing the upper frame can be done with one finger. The printer is a PLC controlled system with capability to store up to 99 print recipes, containing all process parameters. This predestinates the machine for small and middle- size flexible production, operated by low- skilled operator.
