X-ray inspection and CT systems for non-destructive testing
The X-ray systems from Comet GmbH / Feinfocus are being presented for the first time under the Yxlon brand at Productronica. Yxlon stands for high-tech X-ray inspection and CT systems for the non-destructive testing of materials. Until now, Yxlon International X-Ray GmbH had been particularly active in the fields of foundry casting, the automotive and aviation industries, and in pipeline construction. As a provider of X-ray and CT systems for testing materials on a non-destructive basis, Yxlon is a market leader. Comet GmbH / Feinfocus has contrasted by specializing in the detection of flaws on the tiniest scale, for example in the electronics industry, and offers micro-focus X-ray and CT systems for this sector. Unifying these two different competences under the Yxlon brand enables the enterprises to develop innovative products on the one hand while offering customers worldwide the respectively optimum solution for their inspection tasks from the combined product portfolios.

At Productronica the following new products are presented: Y.Cougar Pro offering an automatic loading solution for larger volume X-ray inspection, ideally suited for manual and automated 2 D and µ CT applications; Y.Quick Scan achieving high resolution µ CT scans in less than a minute; Y.FGUI 3.0 the new Feinfocus graphical user interface featuring a full-size real-time X-ray image to ensure minimal loss of resolution. The interface provides simplified code-free creation of automated inspection routines with sophisticated customization using Visual Basic. New operators include automated analysis of QFP-type packages and measurements for barrel fill / through-hole technology.
