In order to significantly reduce inspection cycle times, Ekra offers a combined hard- and software package for its E4 and X5 printer series. The 32-Bit/XP-version package solution includes pre-installed network interface card, CD writer and software solution with an integrated internet browser. These features help reduce PCB inspection cycle times from 2.3 to only 0.9 sec, and stencil inspection cycle times from 1.4 to 0.6 sec. The company delivers the upgrade as standard across the printer series (including E5–36 and DualCon). For printers already installed, it is available as an upgrade, where the computer will be exchanged, followed by calibration of the vision system. The network interface card provides the operator options to integrate the printer quickly into a network. Programming can be carried out off-line, without interfering with the production process. Remote diagnosis problem solving, via the internet, saves time and money. The CD writer allows for easy back-up of programs and system parameters.
