Martin has developed a tool for the rapid and flexible mounting of printed circuit boards. The Handy-Fix-05 is the perfect partner for the Hot-Beam-03 underheater. The Rapid-IR technology reduces the time required for manual lead free soldering by approximately 30 %. Manual rework soldering has to be able to be carried out quickly and conveniently. For this reason the company developed a flexible aid for the underheater to provide quick and precise support for boards. PCBs can now be located and adjusted, even in height, within seconds. Stainless steel clamps with practical snap fastening are capable of holding boards as divers in size as a fingernail or an A4 sheet. Even PCBs with very large sockets have plenty of room. The Handy-Fix-05 consists of an ESD safe base plate, a movable magnetic board clip and two magnetic holders. The underheater with Rapid-IR technology builds, together with the Handy-Fix-05, an ideal partnership for manual lead free soldering. Soldering stations normally have to be set about 50 °C higher for lead free. This is not necessary when a suitable underheater is used. The patent applied for Rapid-IR technology of the Hot-Beam-03 warms the printed circuit board during manual soldering at the maximum permitted rate and maintains a constant preselected temperature of up to 150 °C. The underheater avoids overheating components, improves wetting and significantly increases the life of soldering tips.
