Next leading-edge capabilities on the award-winning AX placement machine of Assembléon introduce novel capabilities, from enhanced machine multifunctionality to functional remote operation of multiple production lines. The aim: making ‘lights-out’ manufacturing in the mid-volume sector a reality. Now, the component range is expanded from fine-pitch down to tiny 01005-passives with reportedly no decrease in speed and low cost per placement. Together with output scalability from 45 to 1508 k cph in 5 k cph-increments (components per hour) on the same footprint, these advantages will be able to maximize return on investment. Features supporting processing of a very wide range of components include also other digital vision systems, feeder option and wide-ranging Z-force control for high-quality placement of any component. The AX delivers a stable, predictable output independently of placement mix. A high feeder count allows a fixed set-up for production in many manufacturing environments; off-line set-up and verification using quick-change trolleys enable fast changeovers in the remainder. On-line program editing assists fast NPI (new product introductions). Application flexibility is achieved through robot-level modularity, which allows rapid, cost-efficient implementation of component and process capabilities.
