In the last few years the Weller Silver Line has reportedly proven its quality and performance. Due to higher melting points, efficient lead-free solders require tools with better thermal conductivity, higher power and optimized temperature control. With these soldering irons, the integrated heating element features an effective thermal-energy transfer towards the tip. This provides a consistent temperature at the soldering point during the process. Thermal stress on assemblies is reduced, and the soldering tip is protected from damage. This induces cost reduction of wear parts. The lead-free tips have a thicker layer of iron, increasing their lifetime.
