For its Measure Foundry test and measurement software Data Translation has introduced the Instrument Pak add-on module – a drag-and-drop graphical interface for LXI-based test and measurement applications. Users can now easily and quickly create applications using modern instruments with LXI or Ethernet interfaces and IVI-COM drivers.
The test and measurement software is an open and powerful application builder with patented technology for automated test equipment (ATE). The add-on module allows smooth integration with standard IVI instrument classes such as digital multimeters (DMM), signal generators, oscilloscopes and programmable power supply units. The instruments are configured by simply clicking the functions on a graphical interface, without the need to program text or enter ASCII strings. The process component allows sequencing of one instrument to another with conditional results and time frames. Combining existing SCPI support with newer LXI instruments offers unprecedented power for creating test and measurement applications. Process sequences can now run in synchronized modes.
Besides LXI and Ethernet the module also supports the classical USB, GPIB and RS232 interfaces through IVI-COM and VISA. It opens up easy access to a vast variety of test, measurement and automation systems, independently of the manufacturer, bus system or location.
The powerful development environment is based on the look and feel of Windows XP/Vista and intuitive to use. Application development is easy and straightforward: The add-on comes with many pre-configured software components, and all functions are created and parameterized on one level.
The test and measurement software is available in a base and a professional version. The add-on requires the professional version.
