Elektrobit Group has introduced the JOT Automation J501–44 high-speed router for fast and accurate in-line routing. The router is ideally used for high-volume production of small PCB modules due to the innovative use of grippers to hold the panel in place, ensuring short cycle durations. The fast new product set-up also reportedly means that the machine works very well in flexible high-mix manufacturing environments, with a user-friendly graphical user interface ensuring easy and accurate product teaching. Milling takes place from the underside of the panel, with the router taking boards from 0.36 to 3.2mm in thickness with a component height of up to 10mm on both upper and underside. Cutting speed is up to 60mm/s, depending on the layout and material of the PCB, with a cutting accuracy of ±0.15mm. The depaneler performance, coupled with its small footprint, multi-language support and ESD-safe design, makes the system a valuable addition to the line.
