The data management system for microscopy is designed to integrate with existing data sources on a network such as order management systems and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems. It can import images, use standard interface protocols to communicate with other software programmes and important applications. Moreover, the system can fully control hardware such as microscopes and industrial endoscopes.
The system ensures that data capture and management is very easy with record-types, data-fields and searches customisable/fittable to individual requirements. Furthermore, multiple simultaneous users are supported without any loss in data access speed and authentification can be integrated with existing Active Directory and LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) systems for Single Sign On (SSO) possibilities.

Stream Workgroup Edition is the client/server based microscopy data management solution for single workstations and small workgroups with up to 5 simultaneous users. It supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express as the default database management system (DBMS).
Stream Enterprise Edition is the premium-class client/server based microscopy data management system for larger workgroups and entire companies with large data management requirements. There are no limits to the number of workstations or users and large amounts of data can be handled and stored with the highest level of security. This edition supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Oracle 10 g database management systems (DBMS).
