Orbotech’s yield Advisor is an addition to its suite of process-control software solutions for electronics assembly. The tool automatically combines post-solder inspection data from AOI systems and repair stations to enable quality monitoring, analysis and control of the entire SMT process. It provides a concept of moving beyond defect detection to prevention, the key to effective quality control. By using the data from AOI, manufacturers can pinpoint quality issues and take control of the SMT process in real-time. The Advisor builds upon a powerful architecture with SQL database. A flexible data-selection function enables users to perform line-to-line product comparisons, Pareto defect analyses on all defect types, generate quality reports and access historical production data.
