Dear readers,

Dear readers,
electronica in Munich starts in a few days, i.e. on November 13. More than 2,600 exhibitors from around the world will present their products – from electronic components and systems to applications and services. Visitors can also look forward to a program of forums and conferences comprising more than 300 lectures covering the entire spectrum of the electronics industry. Don’t miss four days full of momentum for a promising future!

This year’s fair also features the PCB & Components Market Place, an additional platform for the PCB industry that is intended to promote an intense exchange of ideas and information. Located next to the Forum in Hall C1, the networking area will serve as a central meeting place. The program of lectures will focus on plug connectors, PCBs & EMS, MCD and IMDS. The forum program features more than 130 lectures that will take place in the automotive, embedded, exhibitor and electronica Forums. One highlight on the first days of the fair is the CEO Round Table titled “Semiconductor Solutions for the Smart Grid Challenge”. Carlo Bozotti from STMicroelectronics, Rick Clemmer from NXP Semiconductors, Gregg A. Lowe from Freescale Semiconductor and Dr. Reinhard Ploss from Infineon Technologies will discuss the future of reliable energy supply using smart grids.
The program of conference events starts one day before the beginning of the fair with the electronica automotive conference, which revolves around the latest technologies and market developments that pertain to “The Car in the Web”, “Energy Efficient Mobility”, “Safe Driving” and “Design to Cost”. This year’s fair also features a new attraction: the embedded platforms conference allows semiconductor and tool manufacturers as well as service providers to present concrete solution approaches and services for developing embedded platforms. Topics range from embedded design and multicore to Ethernet and low power. Among other things, this year’s Wireless Congress will allow industry specialists to focus on wireless technologies in motor vehicles, new Bluetooth applications, energy-supply solutions and energy harvesting.
The last day of electronica is traditionally dedicated to future industry professionals. Student Day will give potential entry-level employees a chance to get career tips and enjoy a networking lunch with sponsors. And High School Student Day, which takes place at the ICM – Internationales Congress Center München at the same time, allows participants to gather information about various career paths and take a tour of the fair.
I look forward to your visit and wish you an informative and successful electronica 2012.
Sincerely yours,
