SEMICON Europa 2023 is set to bring together industry experts and leaders November 14–17 at Messe München in Munich, Germany, with a greater focus on emerging talents in the microelectronics sector. The event will feature keynotes and executives from the electronics design and manufacturing ecosystem, academia and government.
From sessions that are specifically geared towards recruiting new talent to the chance to connect with initiatives that support young professionals entering the industry, such as SEMI University, the event will open up new opportunities for the younger generation looking to break into the semiconductor industry.
“The number of open vacancies in the semiconductor sector in Europe is growing rapidly,” said Laith Altimime, president of SEMI Europe. “Experts at SEMICON Europa will highlight initiatives such as the Pact for Skills and METIS4Skills to bridge the skills gap in the industry to enhance Europe’s competitiveness.”
Themed Cultivating the Workforce of Tomorrow, the Future of Work session will delve into the significance of inclusive leadership in nurturing a diverse and sustainable workforce. This session will also address pressing industry issues, such as the global talent shortage and the critical need to develop the industry leaders of tomorrow while onboarding new talent. Younger attendees will have the opportunity to leverage a networking event to build meaningful connections and advance their careers within the semiconductor industry.
The 20 Under 30 recognition program will also be announced at the event. This award honors the industry’s brightest young leaders who have demonstrated success in their careers in the microelectronics supply chain – Engineering, Sales/Marketing and R&D positions. We are looking for rising stars who are making a significant difference in the industry and have shown outstanding leadership qualities, a commitment to success, community involvement and innovation through collaboration.
The European premiere of the Chip In documentary will take place at SEMICON Europa 2023. This film features three young adults in their twenties on a tour to explore careers in microelectronics. After the screening, there will be a networking breakfast, providing young professionals with the chance to connect with industry experts.
The SEMI Technology Playground offers visitors a space to network with peers and play with interactive technology. From a flight simulator and VR games to air hockey, the playground provides an interactive space to explore the capabilities that the semiconductor industry enables in the entertainment sector.
