Software support for AOI platform

Teradyne Assembly Test Division’s design-to-build (D2B) software now supports the Optima automated optical inspection (AOI) platform. The modular software streamlines the flow of information throughout the design-to-manufacturing progression, eliminating data transfer and manipulation to reduce costs and accelerate time-to-market. The Windows-based solution utilizes an open architecture, enabling manufacturers to integrate verification platforms smoothly, resulting in reduced manufacturing times and labor-related costs. The module GR Force/A3 provides the ability to acquire data from different CAD systems to generate programs for a variety of test and inspection equipment, and allows for design-for-test (DFT) analysis early in the design cycle. GR Force/Strategist analyzes the assembly design, models the line configuration, and then determines the optimum strategy for the programming of test and inspection equipment. GR Force DesignView allows importing board schematic information in labeled HPGL format. The viewer can simultaneously update both schematic and physical information whenever the user selects a component or signal, enabling a simple browsing of design data. D2B Framework allows modifying design data and managing parts libraries. D2B GenCAM Viewer allows the user to view design data files in an intuitive, graphical manner. It also provides the ability to read GenCAD and GR Alchemist III files. This release also provides support for MVP’s inspection system and JET’s manufacturing defect analyzers.
