Photon Dynamics has introduced the 2100 AOI system to enable low-cost entry and user-interface-stable migration to highend automated in-line inspection. The SV-2100 delivers high-quality, accurate color-image AOI results for board assemblies. It increases defect detection at multiple line locations (paste and pre/post reflow) without hardware or software modifications, and can reduce board rework time and enhance process monitoring. First-product inspection is reduced to less than 30 minutes allowing for fast ramp-up of volume manufacture. Options include shared-parts libraries, off-line programming (reducing machine downtime) and rework stations.
