Keithley Instruments‘ environmental management system at its operations in Solon, Ohio, USA has been certified to be in compliance with the ISO 14001/1996. Reportedly, environmental conservation and recycling initiatives have a long history at Keithley, and the move to certification has enhanced the company’s existing efforts. The group had been recycling electronic manufacturing waste for more than 30 years, and is already working towards eliminating lead-based solder in all products beginning in 2005, a full year ahead of European requirements.
