The X-ray systems originally developed and distributed by the German Macrotron Process Technologies (MPT), then currently renamed Macrotron Scientific Engineering (MSE), now go under the brand name of MacroSience. Reflecting the shift of electronics manufacturing to East Asia, MPT was acquired by the German subsidiary of the Hong-Kong-based ESE (Electronic Scientific Engineering) in 2003, which is part of Schmidt Electronic Asia (SEAL). As a widely branched-out holding company, SEAL supplies the industry with a range of process equipment and solutions. From this vantage point, it was just a logical step to relaunch MSE’s line of X-ray equipment. “MSE’s engineering strength and industry know-how”, says ESE CEO Jan Wong, “coupled with our leading market position in Asia, is a key success factor for the future”.
