The Productronics Association within the German Engineering Federation VDMA has elected Volker Pape as their new chairman, succeeding Dr. Franz Richter. Volker Pape is founder and chairman of X-ray specialist Viscom. Horst Lettner, CEO of the soldering machines manufacturer Seho, remains vice chairman, and he additionally represents the association in the main board of VDMA. The election of another chairman has been done at the request of Franz Richter who has quit as CEO at Süss MicroTec. “Dr. Richter’s engagement, especially with regard to trade fair policy and cooperation of associations on a European level, has marked important milestones for our industry”, Pape acknowledged the work of his predecessor. This strategy will be continued. With approximately 75 member companies, the association represents the process chain of electronics manufacturing and offers synergies to neighboring sectors due to its cooperation with other groups within VDMA and on European level.
