Vitronics Soltec has announced the formation of a technology partnership with KIC, Inc. of San Diego, CA. The companies intend to build upon each other’s technological leadership in their respective sectors of soldering equipment and process management and traceability in order to further advance soldering processes. According to Vitronics Soltec President Erik Tobiason, “This is a long term partnership aimed at developing new capabilities in order to add value to our mutual customers.” KIC President Bjorn Dahle said, “Through this partnership we will be able to leverage our joint strengths to develop new technology solutions for process improvements.” Tobiason further added, “Vitronics Soltec and KIC both see this as an excellent and exciting opportunity to bring true innovation to soldering processes.”
Chris Clement, Director of Vitronics Soltec’s Global Reflow Product lines, said “This partnership will have a direct impact on the value proposition of our machines. Specifically, this will add to the high-end process capabilities of the XPM family for improvement in several areas including process yields, machine up-time, throughput, cost of ownership, and overall productivity.”
