Universal moves headquarters to Hungary
Brad Bennett, UIC's man in Europe: we are up to strengthening our presence across Europe
Following global restructuring, the launch of product ranges, technical innovations and improved supply-chain management, Universal Instruments has now focused its attention on Europe. The corporation is strengthening its presence across the continent with investment in new premises and infrastructure. The company has now made its facility in Budapest/Hungary to be the European headquarters. It’s a move that reflects the changing geographic spread of the company’s customer base within Europe and one that provides distinct logistical advantages. In addition, offices are being relocated in the South of England and in Brittany/France, closer both to customers and fast transportation links.

The Budapest operation includes sales demonstration, training and technical support facilities, as well as finance functions and the order center for spare parts. UIC’s offices in Barcelona/Spain, Milan/Italy and Bad Vilbel/Germany all remain, with the latter also acting as one of the corporation’s three primary global holding hubs for equipment spares and consumables inventory. As Brad Bennett, director of European operations, underlines: “We are continuously working to move closer to our customers in every part of the territory. From a logistics perspective alone, this simple expedient improves our service response. To that end, our offices in Hungary, Germany, UK, France, Italy and Spain remain strategic locations, but are being augmented by an expanding network of distributors who provide local presence and coverage for us in most other countries across mainland Europe and the Nordic region”.
