Russian electronics company makes its debut at Productronica
Sovtest ATE makes its debut at this year’s Productronica in Munich. The Russian company looks back on more than 15 years of successful experience in the electronics and electrical engineering industry. The enterprise started its activity in 1991, in the year of dramatic changes in Russian politics and in the year of decay of Russian electronics production. The specialists of the new company relied upon their knowledge and skills, and strongly believed in their future development and success. “The fact that Sovtest not only survived under these desperate economical conditions, but succeeded in its activity, speaks for the reliability and stability of our company, and also about the highest quality of the equipment and services provided by Sovtest,” says Igor Markov, Head of Sovtest ATE.

Today the company cooperates with industry leaders worldwide such as Teradyne, Juki, Seica, Vitronics Soltec, Schleuniger, TIRA, Polar, Dage, Pbt, Vötch, iTAC and others. Sovtest ATE provides a number of advanced solutions: Professional assistance in equipment selection, help to choose variants which meet customers‘ requirements in better correlation of cost and quality, modern technologies intended to achieve high production increase, solutions for quality and resource management, active traceability as well as solutions to increase the competitiveness and effectiveness of production. The office in Kursk city, Russia, has an area of 1,000 square meters. Another office with an area of 1,500 square meters is being built in 2009.
“In Sovtest ATE’s office there are large show-rooms where we represent the main types of supplied equipment. Here we also arrange trainings for our customer’s staff,” says Markov. However, the company’s success depends greatly on its people. Its 50 specialists came from leading high-technology factories and design offices. They contributed a lot in holding the firm’s leading position even during the – for the whole country – difficult period. And up till now their knowledge and experience has been realized in developments and technologies provided by Sovtest ATE. The company possesses a number of storehouses, and due to this is able to deliver equipment and spare parts in a very short time. The firm is subdivided into departments, such as test and cable processing equipment, equipment for microelectronics, environmental equipment, automotive test solutions and production department. Sovtest ATE has its own service department providing maintenance, technical support, supervision, commissioning, setups of the equipment and trainings for the customer’s staff on a qualified level. “The high level qualification of our engineers is confirmed by certificates from equipment manufacturers, at whose sites our engineers are regularly trained,” says Markov. The firm works in almost all Russia and in the Ukraine, Byelorussia and Kazakhstan and in a number of other countries. The company is an example of Russian electronics industry development and the new Russian way of doing business. The enterprise is known as a supplier and manufacturer of modern equipment and technological solutions for electronics production. The company is ISO 9001:2000 certified and a member of IPC.
“We sell our products not only in Russia but also abroad. Annually, Sovtest ATE takes part in about seven national and international exhibitions for electronics. Needless to say, participation in Productronica will be an important milestone for us, because we will be able to present our achievement on the world level and to prove again the competitiveness and reliability of the Russian electronic industry,” says Markov. In Munich on display: Sovtest ATE’s Fault Locator, a low-cost device for fault location using the analog signature analysis (ASA) method and the Teradyne TestStation LH in-circuit test system, a lower-cost, small footprint, feature scalable version of the TestStation 12X product family.
