Customers of AlternativeSMT have recently taken advantage of a new service – the company’s first ever online auction. In partnership with Hilco Europe and X-Line Asset Management, AlternativeSMT auctioned off the assets of two Elcoteq plants – one in Lohja, Finland and the other in Tallinn, Estonia.
The online auction was a major departure for the company, who specialises in reselling refurbished SMT and through-hole assembly equipment. Peter Fraiman, Managing Director of AlternativeSMT said, “We are excited to have had this opportunity to broaden our services and offer our clients the opportunity to purchase late model Siemens equipment at an auction price”.
The auctioneer provided professional support to all potential buyers who were interested in bidding in the auction. Peter Fraiman said, “With over 20 year experience in the second-user industry we are perfectly positioned to add value to our customer base with this new service offering. We hope this auction will be the first of many successful ventures in this field”. The company buys and sells a number of manufacturer’s machines – including Fuji, Mydata, Philips, BTU, Electrovert, MPM, DEK and Universal.
