New partnership for SPI systems

Orpro Vision, a supplier of AOI & SPI for the EMS industry, signs a manufacturing agreement with Jabil. Jabil will manufacture the “Best-in-Class” Symbion P36 Plus Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) system of the company. The decision to partner with Jabil is part of Orpro Vision’s strategic, long term growth plans. It is a philosophy to consistently select the most effective supply chain in order to stay competitive in the market and to provide unsurpassed technology to customers. President of Orpro Vision, Roberto Gatti, said, “Jabil is a well-known manufacturer in the electronics market. Choosing them as the manufacturer of our Symbion P36 Plus allows us to integrate our superior inspection technology with Jabil’s expertise and know-how, thus ensuring top quality at a competitive price.”

Roberto Ferri, Jabil’s VP of Global Sales Europe, stated: “We are excited to enable a step forward in Orpro Vision’s development. We look forward to providing them with the technology and expertise to meet the competitive requirements of this demanding industry.”
The Symbion P36 Plus SPI system provides superior volumetric solder paste inspection and measurement, enabling real-time control of the solder paste process. The system utilizes an optimized scanning technique with two scan lines operating simultaneously via independent optical channels for 3D and 2D image acquisition; this provides 100 % inspection and precise measurements of solder paste deposit volume, area, shape, and location. This new partner-ship will begin with the manufacture of the Symbion P36 Plus system. Both companies are optimistic to further strengthen and expand this collaboration in the near future.
