Miyachi Corporation Tokyo is consolidating its four market-leading micro-connection businesses under a single corporation to serve the European market. Miyachi Europe Corporation will unify the Miyachi, Miyachi Peco, Miyachi Unitek and Unitek Eapro product ranges to provide a single source for the industry’s leading products for micro-resistance welding, laser-welding and laser-marking as well as for hot-bar soldering and heat-seal bonding.
Miyachi Europe’s managing director, Susumu Ueda explained, “By consolidating the European businesses we are providing customers with easier access to the most advanced micro-connection technologies. This will enable customers to combine different technologies whilst reducing their vendor base for greater efficiency.” The new company will offer Miyachi laser-welding and laser marking products, Miyachi Unitek fine-spot resistance welding equipment, Miyachi Peco micro-resistance welders and weld monitors for industrial and automotive applications and Miyachi Eapro laser-welding and laser-marking, hot-bar soldering and heat-seal-bonding systems. Miyachi Europe’s central research and development laboratory in Puchheim, Germany, will continue the company’s 100-year record of innovation, as well as helping to develop customer-specific solutions across the different joining technologies. The consolidation of the European businesses will begin in the first quarter of 2008 and Miyachi Europe has a consolidated sales target of 35 million euro by the end of the business year, 30th June 2008.
