Jot automation brand acquired
The German based Rohwedder Group has recently acquired Elektrobit Corporation’s Production Solutions business. The division joins and expands on the group’s Electronic Productions Solutions (EPS) business. EPS will now incorporate the JOT automation brand across all of its product offerings. The brand will include assembly, material processing, material handling and manufacturing test equipment for a range of electronics manufacturing industries. The EPS business is set to become one of the largest global electronics industry automation solution providers. The global presence of EPS will broaden its customer base to target all manufacturing areas; including the automotive, telecommunications, electronics and medical technology industries.

Commenting on the acquisition, Joachim Rohwedder, Chairman of the Board, said: “This acquisition is the decisive step on our way to becoming the leading international automation technology enterprise, especially with regard to our Electronics Production Solutions division. We are looking forward to integrating the new business unit and the employees into the Rohwedder Group as fast as possible.”
EPS will have the capability to serve customers locally in all global market areas. It will offer manufacturing across three continents including Europe, Asia and the Americas. The head office for EPS will now be located in Finland and employ approximately 500 people. New employees will include all those who have previously worked for EB’s production solutions division.
