Elektrobit forms Test and Automation division
Elektrobit Group, a technology partner to the telecommunications, electronics and automotive industries, is restructuring its business units to serve its customers optimally. The company is combining its test and automation business units into a common Test and Automation division. The units have previously operated independently within Elektrobit’s business segment, and the merging will enable the division to serve their joint customers more comprehensively. Formerly VP of Testing, Dr. Hannu Hakalahti, has been appointed Executive VP of Test and Automation. The customers of the division will include the manufacturers of mobile communication devices and mobile networks, network operators and electronics contract manufacturers (EMS), as well as automotive, consumer and industrial electronics companies. The Test and Automation division will be divided into four business areas: Production Solutions, Integrated Test and Automation Products, System Test, and Network Test. In terms of net sales, Test and Automation is the group’s largest division. Calculated from the information provided in the financial pro-forma statement for 2004, the net sales of the newly formed division accounted for 56% of Elektrobit sales (euro 113.5m) of a total of euro 203m.
