Elcomp India 2007: An opportunity waiting to be exploited

For the third year running, the electronics industry will combine to create Elcomp India 2007: The exhibition takes place from September 12th to 14th, 2007 at Pragati Maidan Exhibition Center, New Delhi, India. Organised by Elcina and Exhibitions India, the event will be a platform for companies to showcase electronic components, subsystems as well as equipment and machines used in the manufacturing of electronic components, assemblies and products. Elcomp India 2007 offers an opportunity to take advantage of the opening of the Indian economy that has led to the emergence of India becoming a manufacturing hub.

The Indian market: Indian electronic hardware is witnessing rapid advances with high growth rates in all segments including telecommunications, information technology, consumer electronics and new ‘sunrise’ segments such as automotive, medical and process control. The superiority of our skilled workforce and our price competitiveness has provided impetus to manufacturing, prompting some of the biggest multinationals, notably the EMS companies, to look towards India as an attractive manufacturing base supported by one of the largest and fastest emerging markets.
The market for electronic equipment is projected to grow year after year at 30% per annum for the next decade and grow to a phenomenal US Dollar 320 billion by 2015 compared to the present US Dollar 30 billion. This augurs well for the electronics value chain with immense growth potential for material, components, parts and subassemblies all of which are required to feed the manufacture of electronics equipment. The requirement of these inputs is expected to exceed US Dollar 100 billion.
Conference theme: ‚Electronics Manufacturing – Destination India‘:
The 2-day conference will bring together international experts, researchers, and implementers from the global electronic industry to discuss a mix of technical papers and panel presentations.
It will also be a valuable platform for exhibitors to introduce new products to the audience through an in-depth presentation and network with buyers directly. It will also foster the exchange of technical information and encourage the electronic community to deploy available technologies and develop new solutions to unsolved problems. The conference provides a platform where fruitful partnerships will be formed among government and innovators in the private sector to explore new ways for uplifting the electronic manufacturing in the country.
