Bringing manufacturers up to speed

Nordic Industries & Technology AB (Bräkne-Hoby, Sweden), a small, specialized electronics CEM, has taken delivery of Assembléon’s Opal-XII Pick & Place machine. The machine is proving popular with small OEMs/CEMs. For the Swedish firm, which manufactures highly-specified automotive, control and ventilation electronic equipment, the 8-headed machine is perfect for fast ramp-ups, changeovers and variable batch sizes with a variety of products. Håkan Svensson, MD and owner of Nordic, says: “We chose Assembléon because they are a huge player in the market with a broad and comprehensive service & support structure. The Opal-XII and all the X-Series modules form the perfect future-proof platform for companies like ours who are planning for future expansion.” The Pick & Place machine is the Swedish company’s first investment in new manufacturing equipment. Reportedly, its price/performance ratio, broad component range and very low cost-of-ownership are key features for small manufacturers.

With no extra costs for installation, this Pick & Place machine is a low-cost, turnkey solution, and the fastest way from CAD data to first products. It has built-in expandability, allowing customers to buy only what they need today and expand when their demands grow. A second Pick & Place machine can be configured in line, using the same network database. And other machines from the X-Series, such as the Topaz-XII, can be combined with the Opal-XII to provide volume and application flexibility.
