Altus, a distributor of capital equipment for the electronics assembly industry in the UK and Ireland, will be helping to promote Rehm’s innovative software solution, aimed at addressing ‘Smart Factory’ intelligent manufacturing at productronica in Germany from 14–17 November.
One of Rehm’s main focuses will be on ViCON, a clever software created with intuitive touch operability of the VisionX series. The system allows you to log all values, or collect and analyze alarms to avoid errors, improve soldering processes and document for optimum traceability. The software and the app will allow remote monitoring of the system in real time from your PC, tablet, or mobile.
Working on the future of the Smart Factory concept, the company will also demonstrate a manufacturer-independent interface for communications between all machines of a production. ‘The Hermes Standard’ enables circuit boards to be logged through all stations of the production process (printers, transport, placement machines, AOI systems, soldering systems), with complete traceability and without any loss of data. It is intended that the tool will replace the usual SMEMA standard.
The company will also have a range of thermal systems displayed, including the VisionXP+ Vac that allows void-free convection soldering in a single process. The system has had a number of updates including environmental and energy efficiency developments, which saves customers up to 20% energy in electronics manufacturing, with the system consuming an average of 10 tons less CO2 per year.
The thermal system removes gas bubbles and voids during the pre-soldering process while the solder is still in an ideal molten state. With a vacuum of up to 2 mbar, void rates of less than 2% are possible. The pressure and speed can also be individually managed giving the user optimum control. Components can now pass directly from peak areas to the vacuum process, this reduces time during the production process, and creates a stable and high-quality end result.
