ECD, a leading provider of thermal profiling equipment and software, has introduced an updated version (Version 2.16b) of its M.A.P. (Machine, Assembly, and Process) software. Used with the MegaM.O.L.E. 20, the SuperM.O.L.E. Gold, and the newest addition to the M.O.L.E. family of thermal profilers, the V-M.O.L.E., ECD’s M.A.P. software has proven valuable both to the engineer and the production operator. Its three Wizards have made it easy for even the beginning or infrequent user to both set up and verify the target thermal profile. The updated Wizard for step-by-step creation of a profile’s Target 10 specification makes it easier than ever for the engineer to both define a Target 10 specification and program it into the M.O.L.E. The “engineer” and “verify” modes allow the engineer to turn off aspects of the software not relevant to production operators, while they themselves retain access to M.A.P.’s full diagnostic capability. Because throughput counts, within “verify” mode simple visual indicators signal production operators whether the target profile has been met within engineer-specified tolerances. The MegaM.O.L.E. 20 and the V-M.O.L.E. have the additional capability of one-button indication of Go/No-Go.
