Ultra-flexible product development
The latest product innovations from Komax come mainly in response to new trends in the market. In general, there are four prominent trends right now for which Komax is presenting innovations. Miniaturization: The Komax machines have been newly developed to allow the processing of even smaller sized cables, particularly for insertion in miniaturized housings. For instance, the new Zeta 633/656 processes conductor coss sec- tions of 0.13 mm2 and minia- turized housings with a grid spacing of 1.25 mm. Manual loading of these housings ranges from difficult to impossible and is highly prone to error. Komax meets this challenge with the Zeta 633/656, a model that can even produce harnesses with small components fully auto- matically. Quality optimization: CFA+, a generation of crimp force analysis, combines quality with high production output. This feature helps in determining the optimum setting parameters and in detecting setup errors. CFA+ ensures optimum monitoring during production and is so easy to understand and to operate. More flexibility: The automatic crimping machines are fitted with optimized open interfaces, so they remain flexible in accommodating the mounting of processing modules. One example is the new Alpha 355 S, a model now positioned between the Alpha 355 and the Alpha 356. Larger production output: Komax

strives to boost the performance of existing products while making them easier for users to operate. The Alpha 355, Alpha 356 and Alpha 455 machines have been optimized in ways that improve their productivity and the monitoring of machine performance while making inkjet marking even more flexible. Multi-conductor twisting with the new semiautomatic bt 188 is another example of an innovation. It features excellent twisting quality at a high rate of speed. With the option for precise multi-conductor twisting on the bt 188, Komax offers a solution that is efficient in terms of quality and economy. This product is a great value for the money. This option and its clever design allows three or four conductors to be twisted with no pitch errors. The ims 295 inkjet marking system has an broad scope of appli- cation. It can be used as a fully integrated inkjet in all fully automatic Komax wire processing machines or as an offline inkjet. Komax is also presenting a laser marker capable of marking wire while it is being drawn in to the ma-chine. With its new Zeta 633 L, Komax offers a model that expands the range of use of the Zeta systems. The addi-tional processing stations reduce the required material changes and interruptions to production. For many applications, no extension is needed and the overall cost of investment is substan- tially lower. This makes the Zeta 633 L the perfect system for the production of wre har- nesses for control cabinet construction.
