Surface mount screen printing specialist, Speedprint Technology, demonstrated its S-Track system at productronica 2017. It integrates directly into the company’s SP710 printer platform to provide sophisticated barcode-based traceability right at the start of surface mount assembly.

By introducing the benefits of traceability one process step upstream from the placement machine, S-Track delivers complete end-to-end visibility and tracking across an SMT assembly line. The package includes automated barcode reading and the company’s Traceability Option software, allowing users to scan barcodes to recall all the process data related to that board, including those once part of a panelized PCB.

Integrating pick & place technology into a screen printer is an industry first, unique in the surface mount market. It deploys a proven label feeder, complete with quick-change nozzle capability for different label styles and sizes, within the printer’s architecture. It allows an unlimited number of pre-printed 1D, 2D and laser-etched barcode labels to be accurately positioned on the board in an unlimited number of locations, with orientation through 90 degrees to fit around PCB features.
