Enthone Inc., a business of Cookson Electronics, has appointed Ben Poon, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Enthone Asia. Poon brings to Enthone over two decades of commodity and specialty chemical expertise gained while working at Dow Chemical where he served in a broad range executive positions including global joint-venture management, finance, marketing and commercial development.
Poon began his career at Dow in 1987 where he held various finance positions of increasing responsibility before being named Pacific Area Marketing Manager for the company’s Specialty Chemicals business in 1995. In 1999, he was appointed Americas Marketing Manager for Specialty Chemicals, Midland, Michigan, USA. In January 2003, he relocated to Hong Kong to assume the position of Pacific Commercial Director for Chemicals and Performance Chemicals. In March 2005, Poon was appointed the Global Commercial Vice President for MEGlobal, a 50/50 joint venture between Dow and Petrochemicals Industries Company of Kuwait. Poon will report to Steven J. Corbett, Chief Executive Officer of Cookson Electronics and President of Enthone. He will be located at the Cookson Electronics Kowloon, Hong Kong office.
