New gap filler to be dispensed live

Dow Corning, a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, today announced that Scheugenpflug will do live dispensing of its new Dow Corning TC-4515 Thermally Conductive gap filler at its booth at Bondexpo 2016, taking place from October 10–13 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Scheugenpflug AG, a leading supplier of resin metering and dispensing systems for dispensing processes both at atmospheric pressure levels and in vacuum environments, will demonstrate its new Dos P016 TCA piston metering system dispensing the Dow Corning TC-4515 Thermally Conductive gap filler at booth 9212, Hall 9.
The gap filler is the new thermal gap filler for the transportation electronics industry, further completing the company’s gap filler portfolio with a lower thermal conductive solution for thermal conductivity of 1.5 W/m.K.
To meet growing demand for easier processability and better thermal performance in automotive electronics applications, the company developed – and continues to broaden – a portfolio of gap filler materials. Its latest addition, the gap filler delivers thermal conductivity of 1.5 W/m.K, improves dispensability, reduces abrasiveness and stable performance for more reliable electronics in harsh automotive under the hood environments.
„While dense, high-functioning electronic assemblies deliver greater value to automotive safety, reliability, performance and comfort, they are generating higher temperatures that can reduce device performance and reliability over time,“ said Brice Le Gouic, global market manager for Transportation Electronics, Dow Corning. „Building on our six-plus decades of expertise in the automotive industry, Dow Corning formulated TC-4515 Thermally Conductive gap filler as a lower thermal conductive gap filler that combines higher processability with enhanced thermal conductivity. More specifically, our goal was to enable customers to cost-effectively manage the rising heat in their next-generation electronics designs.“
Dow Corning TC-4515 Thermally Conductive gap filler is a soft, vibration dampening, two-part silicone with excellent thixotropic properties that enable it to dispense easily, avoid slumping on vertical surfaces during assembly and – after cure – maintain its vertical stability even after long use. The gap filler is available worldwide..
