Rood Technology Deutschland and microtec have entered into a merger. With 165 employees and 17.5 Mio Euro turnover (2007), both companies reportedly form the largest independent house for semiconductor testing and quality services in Europe. Their customers benefit from a wider service portfolio since both partners complement each other excellently in their services: Given resources can be used more efficiently, professionals´ distinctive know-how and experience sum up. Thus the efficiency for customers will increase. In the field of IC testing and engineering, customers now have the choice between Advantest, Credence, Teradyne and Verigy platforms. Supporting supply chain services will be further expanded. Product and process qualifications span from single device via interconnection technology to PCBs and assembled boards. Within the area failure analysis, services on chip and wafer level complement analyses for packaged devices, blank boards and assembled boards. Offering services for optoelectronics, especially for VCSEL, LEDs, image sensors and fibre optics, the consolidated companies occupy an outstanding position among European testlabs.
