Jim Pisa appointed as VP of Engineering
Orthodyne Electronics Corporation has announced the instatement of Jim Pisa, PhD, as Vice President of Engineering. Jim Pisa is succeeding Vartan (Bob) Babayan, who retired after holding the position since January 1st, 1991. Pisa’s focus is on continuing the proven portfolio of products and, establishing new development directions, while leading a diverse, multi-disciplinary group of engineers. As the new VP of Engineering, Jim Pisa brings to Orthodyne Electronics extensive experience in the research and development of new technology for advanced systems such as medical ultrasonic imaging, precision motion control, vibration control, and weather measurement equipment. Comprising more than 25 years of managing engineering operations Pisa offers expertise in directing and improving the efficiency of processes within diverse groups of highly qualified engineers. In joining the company, Jim Pisa will apply his exceptional range of skills to a company that continues to thrive in the fast-paced, ever-changing high-tech market. Pisa is eager to explore new opportunities and develop new products while in well-known Orthodyne style, always putting the customers in a top position first.

Jim Pisa’s distinguished career in the semiconductor industry includes his previous position as VP Engineering at Newport Corp., where he supervised multiple projects simultaneously in the development of high-precision systems. Jim Pisa holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, a MS in Physics from the University of Wisconsin, and a BS in Physics from Louisiana State University.
