Schleuniger enlarges the family of fully automatic crimping machines with three new models, the CrimpCenter 61, 62 and 66. This new generation excels in maximizing productivity: Precise high speed processing, short change-over times and user-friendly operation. The CrimpCenter 61 (see figure) is a fully automatic crimping machine for up to two processing stations. The user side can be equipped with a crimping station and either a sealing station or a double gripper module. The CrimpCenter 62 is a fully automatic crimping machine for up to two crimping stations and the CrimpCenter 66 is a fully automatic crimping machine for up to six processing stations (max. 4 crimping stations). All three models employ a dynamic and powerful servo drive combined with an intelligent control system, which provides high production rates to meet the most demanding production schedules without loss in quality. As production lots become increasingly smaller, short change-over times become more and more important. With the ToolingShuttle System (TSS), which uses Plug & Crimp technology, the company now offers an economical solution to significantly reduce setup times. Changeovers can be done in as little as 30 seconds. This system allows setup work to be done while the fully automatic crimping machine is still producing. Depending on how often customers change applications during production, productivity increases of 30 percent or more can be achieved.

Tool-less quick-lock systems and simple icon-based touch screen operation make these new models very user-friendly machines. Operator training times are comparably short, the risk of incorrect operator data entry is drastically reduced by the menu-guided software, and all important additional machine information such as manuals, technical drawings or spare parts lists are always available directly in the machine software. The fully automatic crimping machines also feature quick-change mechanisms for fast change-overs and replacement of spare parts such as belts or blades without tools. In addition, the machines are fully network-able with standard Internet protocol. Without using any proprietary technology, integration into existing networks such a company LAN is fast and simple. Implementing a worldwide quality or production planning network can be done without any additional investments in infrastructure.
