JBC, a manufacturer of soldering and rework equipment, is exhibiting at productronica 2017, which takes place at the Messe München on November 14–17. productronica is a leading trade fair for electronics development and production and is supported by the Productronics Association in the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) as a conceptual partner. It has taken place in Munich every two years since 1975 and is a core element of the electronics trade fair network of Munich International Trade Fair.

Bringing the digital transformation to the soldering process

The company will introduce the benefits of Net, the first smart system to optimize traceability and resources in hand soldering. It brings companies all the advantages of a hyper-connected smart production line and enables automatic and remote control over all soldering jobs.

This innovative software offers transversal real time assistance. This means less unforeseen errors and higher quality and precision in the process. This system allows factories to share parameters and configurations between different plants and export data in one click to quickly and accurately adjust the production to the customers’ demands.

New solutions for automation

The Surface Mount Technology is increasingly being adopted on account of advantages such as reduced manufacturing cost, higher component density and simpler and faster automation. Demand for automation equipment is also growing in developing markets and Industrial Robots are commonly used, so the company is adapting its tools to this new reality.

The company’s R+D department has been working this year to develop new solutions for soldering automation such as a soldering head, special cartridges, a solder feeder, an automatic tip cleaner, and even an automatic cartridge exchange system.

Supporting the soldering experts

The company is a Gold Sponsor of IPC’s Hand Soldering Competition which will be held during the fair at Hall A1, Stand 307. Over three days, experienced professionals will demonstrate their skills in hand soldering as they have to complete a functional assembly within 60 minutes, meeting IPC-A-610F Class 3 criteria. The speed and functionality of the assembly will be judged by IPC-A-610 Master Instructors.

New this year, IPC will feature the World Hand Soldering Championship on Friday, November 17. Along with the regional European productronica winner, representatives from Russia, Poland, United Kingdom, France, Hungary, Germany and Asia will be competing for the World Championship.
